Before choosing a Montessori and childcare provider, ask how classrooms are grouped by age and what the daily schedule looks like. Ask whether Montessori materials are used across age levels and how the setting balances child-led activity with routines such as meals, rest and outdoor time. Inquire about staff-to-child ratios, the training and credentials of the adults in each room, and how guidance, transitions and communication with families are handled. Ask about licensing, health and safety policies, and what happens when a child is sick. If the Montessori approach matters to you, ask how it is practiced day to day and whether the provider holds any Montessori affiliation. Ask what a typical day includes, how families are updated and how the provider supports children who are new to group care. A visit can help you judge whether the environment fits your child.
