Lil' Explorers Childcare Center

A childcare and daycare center in Andover, Minnesota, Lil' Explorers Childcare Center operates at 1485 Bunker Lake Blvd NW. Care of this kind is built around young children, and the arrangements that matter most, such as age groups, staffing and daily routine, are set by each provider. Ask which ages are accepted and whether infants, toddlers and preschoolers are cared for in separate rooms. Ask how many caregivers are assigned to each group and whether that number holds through drop-off, meals, outdoor play and rest. Ask what training and background checks caregivers complete before working with children, and how new staff are introduced to the group. Licensing and inspection history are worth requesting, along with the center's written policies on illness, medication, allergies and toileting. It also helps to know what a typical day contains: whether learning is play-based or follows a set curriculum, how much time is spent outdoors, and how meals and snacks are handled. Ask how staff share news of a child's day with families, who is authorized to collect a child, and how guidance and behavior are managed. Finally, ask whether full-day, part-time or waitlist enrollment is available and how a new child is eased into the program.
