Alltek Turf

Alltek Turf is a sod farm in Andover, Minnesota, growing and supplying premium Kentucky Bluegrass sod for landscaping projects. Sod is cut fresh for each order, and both same day pickup and delivery are available. The farm is at 1565 167th Ave NW in Andover. Its sod is intended for lawns and landscape work where a finished, immediately green surface is wanted rather than seed, which makes it relevant to homeowners establishing a new lawn and to contractors handling larger projects. Before ordering sod for a project in the northern Twin Cities area, ask which grass species or blend is in the sod, since Kentucky Bluegrass behaves differently from fescue mixes in sun, shade and wear. Ask whether the sod is cut to order and how soon after harvest it should be laid, because sod that sits too long loses quality. Confirm how the order is measured, whether by square foot or by pallet, and how much overlap or waste to allow for curves and edges. Ask what soil preparation the supplier expects before delivery, since sod roots into prepared ground and performs poorly over compacted or ungraded soil, and ask what watering schedule is recommended for the first weeks after installation. For delivery, find out how the drop is scheduled, whether a pallet can be left on a driveway or must be placed at the lawn edge, and how quickly the whole load needs to be unrolled once it arrives. Ask how far ahead orders should be placed during busy spring and early fall periods.
