Andover High School

Located at 2115 Andover Blvd NW in Andover, Minnesota, Andover High School is a high school for students at the secondary level. The address places it in the city of Andover, Minnesota, and the name and grade level set it apart from elementary schools. The school's academic program and student support are the main areas to examine when comparing it with other high schools. For families comparing high schools, the most useful questions are academic. Ask which courses are required for graduation and which electives are available. Ask how advanced or honors coursework is handled, if it is offered, and what academic support exists for students who need extra help or want more challenge. Ask how course planning and postsecondary counseling work, including who helps students choose classes and plan for college or other paths after high school. Ask how class sizes are set and how students request schedule changes. Ask about extracurricular offerings such as athletics, arts, and clubs, and whether participation carries eligibility rules. For students with learning plans or other support needs, ask how services are coordinated and who oversees them. Ask how the school communicates with families about academic progress and concerns. A visit or shadow day can show how the school feels day to day, but confirm whether those options are available before relying on them.
