Riverdale Church

In Andover, Minnesota, this congregation gathers for Sunday worship at 9:00 and 10:30 AM, with a stated purpose of making disciples who make disciples. Its ministries are organized around children, youth, and adults, and it also lists community groups, next steps, events, and media among its areas of focus. The church describes itself as a place where everyone is welcome, a claim a visitor can test by attending a service and seeing how the congregation receives newcomers. For anyone weighing a place of worship, several things are worth asking before settling in. Ask how the two Sunday services differ, if at all, and which tends to be fuller or more geared toward families. If you have children, ask what happens in the kids ministry during each service, how check-in works, and which ages are grouped together. Ask what the youth ministry covers and how often it meets. For adults, ask how community groups are formed, whether they meet in homes or at the building, and how someone joins one. It also helps to request the mission and beliefs in writing and read them before visiting, since that statement says more about a congregation than a welcome message does. Ask how next steps are handled for someone new, whether events are open to the surrounding community, and whether there is a way to hear a service online to get a sense of the teaching first. The congregation meets at 3210 Bunker Lake Blvd NW.
